Is This Thing On?

Three years can go by in the blink of an eye. That's how long it's been since my last post on here -- it's also not the first time that I've gone three years between posts.

I'm still kickin' and still writing code, but my focus and energy outside of work has largely been devoted to family life and the two little ones running around the house.

But, with it being New Years and all, I figured it was as good a time as any to dust off the ol' blog and give an update and maybe some thoughts on what might be in store for the future.

I'm still working as a software engineer. A few years ago, I made the jump to engineering management and enjoyed the change of pace for a while, but eventually I found that I really missed writing code. About six months ago, I left my position at Endeavor and joined PopStroke, where I'm once again working with many of those same folks that I previously worked with at Endeavor and at TED.

I don't have any concrete plans for what's to come on the blog front. I still feel a passion for technology and software engineering, but my interests in writing about it have waned quite a bit. I'm not sure if that's a reflection of the current state of the industry, my own personal evolution, or some combination of the two.

Photography has become a much larger part of my life over the past few years, so perhaps there will be some content related to that in the future. Or maybe not. We'll see.
